Salt Pig | Lagoon Tide

Glazed in soft layers of deep indigo, turquoise, and seafoam, this salt pig captures the feeling of standing at the edge of a hidden lagoon. The darker tones at the top flow into lighter coastal blues and sandy clay at the base, echoing the way deep water fades into the shallows. Its wide opening makes it easy to grab a pinch of salt while cooking, while the flowing glaze pattern ensures it is as much a display piece as it is practical.
Hand-thrown and glazed in my little studio in Ōhaeawai, Aotearoa, New Zealand, this is a true one-off piece.
