Soap Bottle / Lotion Bottle | MoonShell

NZD45.00

The glaze colourway Moonshell is inspired by the craters of the moon and seashells, this bottle soft lavender glazes flowing over ridged, organic womanly curves and into earthy, creamy speckled clay. This handmade ceramic soap bottle evokes low tides and salt-worn seashells bringing a peaceful, oceanic touch to your bathroom or kitchen.

Thrown by hand in my little studio in Ōhaeawai, Aotearoa, New Zealand, each bottle is fitted with a stainless steel pump and sealed with care, ready to be filled with your favourite soap, lotion, or hand sanitizer.

Check out my fave liquid soap recipe below: it's one of the many DIY recipes from Wendyl Nissen's gorgeous book: A Natural Year: Living Through the Seasons.

This recipe uses glycerine which is a fantastic moisturiser for your hands.

Easy Liquid Hand Wash

2 Tbs grated Dr Bronner's Mild Castile Soap Bar (or Sunlight soap)

250 ml boiling water

2 tsp glycerine

2 tsp rosewater

10 drops rose essential oil (or any of your choice)

Add the grated soap to the boiling water, stir and then let sit for about 10 minutes until the soap melts. Stir in the glycerine, rosewater and essential oil. When the mixture is smooth but still warm, pour it into an empty soap dispenser bottle (when cold it will be harder to pour). This mixture is thicker than regular liquid soap.
